I put on a front receiver hitch from 4xInnovations. Have not used it yet. It looks well designed and made and was not difficult to attach. Adam the builder says it's capable of pulling 9500 lbs. I'd guess it's much stronger than any of the truck structure it attaches to.

Instructions are scarce, but all it took was popping off the grill and bumper cover and unbolting the sub/crash bumper assembly. This hitch replaces the aluminum mounts and then I reattached the aluminum bumper. It bolts to the bumper-supporting frame parts and below where the skid plate is. I had to remove the passenger side tow loop.

The receiver tube fits between the two parts of the bumper cover and that requires cutting out a bit of plastic grid. The receiver tube ends up about flush with the bumper cover. It came with a license plate platform that plugs the receiver.

I'd shopped for an ARB recovery point. They seem to be unavailable. This hitch is quite a bit cheaper, likely more versatile, and was delivered in couple weeks.IMG_20210807_134508751_HDR.jpg IMG_20210807_134508751_HDR.jpg 20210731_125459.jpg

Nothing heavy. I've pulled some stuff, few hundred pounds, around on the ground is all. By inserting a D ring.

I had the MOB town front 2" receiver on my rig for a while, very versatile piece of kit right there!

Never had so many guys talk to me at the gas station while gassing up, as when that was on the truck. For some reason everyone has an idea or story about using a receiver on the front of a truck :boink:

    I miss having it :(

But a winch is nothing to complain about so I deal with it :bananadance:

I wound up getting a Wyeth Scott Power Puller and stash it in the back. I haven't pulled the truck out with it yet but it and front and rear receivers look adequate.

Has anyone done this with an aftermarket bumper? I’m looking at C4 hybrid or Apex aluminum full hoops and just cutting out the winch mount. Might also just order bare metal and fab it up with a buddy just wondering how many have tried, I can’t be the first or only one?

I'm looking at doing the same with a different DIY bumper kit in the spring summer. I have had my CBI front hitch and winch for many years, and don't want to permanently tuck in a winch.

Same, I have it on my plate bumper from relentless. Bought it bare steel and got a guy to throw on a receiver and powder coat. I just hate the weight. I want a hybrid or aluminum front bumper to cut weight but not willing to lose the hitch.
