What up guys, so I recently picked up a 2015 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner Sr5 4 cyl. The trucks sitting on stock rims and tires
    16x7 steel rims
    245/75/16 tires
This truck won’t be seeing any heavy off-road use, besides my jobs muddy parking lot.. it won’t be lifted, it may get leveled at some point but it’s not that important to me. Ideally I don’t want any rubbing, nor do I want to do any cutting or trimming. This one is gonna spend most of its life as a pavement princess. I do want to however put some all terrains and wheels on it. I’m currently looking at a 16x8 Moto Metal with 0 offset and 4.5” backspace and pairing them with a Toyo Open Country AT3 245/75/16, anybody running similar specs and have pics? Or different wheel and tire options all together. Thanks for your time.19579EE5-882D-4753-B7F4-9B6D797961A5.jpgC6E056BA-077E-48D1-8A60-428E700CD395.jpg221E4B22-8DD2-4D5B-B014-C80F89CD7193.jpg

I don't know why you would go with a wider wheel for a narrower tire, or that tire size. There seems to be a lot of people that like the Toyo Open Country AT3 tires.

What would you suggest? That’s what tire rack, extreme terrain, and wheel hero suggest as the tire size for that size rim. What would you choose?

I'd look at all the 3rd gen wheel styles, pick one or two you like, and shop for those being taken off of someones truck locally.

    Cheap, perfect fit decent quality.

I have had the previous version of that tire since 2015, the Open Country AT II (265/70 17), and they have been great. Shop said the AT III looks better and should last even longer.

If I could go back, I’d go SCS all the way. Some good simple looking wheels

I vote for either the 4runner trail edition rims because they are for sale all over the place and can be had to $300-600 used…..or the 4runner trd pro sema rims. They are little bit more pricey but they are light. And light rims means better power, better mpg, less wear.

tires….that’s all up to you. A lot of people, and me included run the falken wildpeak at3 in a 265/70R17. You won’t rub with them and they look good.

whatever tire you choose, I would look all over the internet and go to American tire and get them to price match.

I think my flakens were going to be like $170 a tire, but I found them for $118 online from wall mart. They matched the price. Great thing about American tire, they will take care of warranty if need be and they rotate my tires every 5k for me. Free of charge

New member here. Picking up my Tacoma at the end of the week. I'm actually going to be buying the Open County AT3's for mine. I have them on my current ride and they are GREAT on and off road. My question is, can I go with the 265/75R16 vs the 245/75R16 and get the bigger sidewall without any fitment issues? Appreciate any feedback.

It depends on your rims but yes. Most people have no issues

I didn't know the newer tacos came with stock black wheels... It sort of looks like they were just painted or plasti-dipped.

Anyways... I kept my stock wheels and got tires an inch or so thicker than stock; cheaper than buying wheels and tires, and it's a bit more off-road ready.

I think wheels are a personal preference so no recommendations here. However, for the tires I am a big fan of the Michelin LTX A/T2. They are pricey but worth it. I'm on my second set and got 90k miles in 5 years on the last ones. I probably could have gone another year on them as they still had 8/32nds but had started cracking. Not as aggressive as some of the other all terrains but are great on highway with occasional off road. 265/70/16 is +1 over the stock tires with no issues on the standard suspension. Best of luck.

I assume you have a 6 lug wheel, if not please ignore the rest of this.....

You could find a set of 17" Alloys from a 2nd Gen Sport, then fit with 265/65-17.

I got a set (4) of take-offs from a TW member for $200 including shipping.

    I stripped and painted these.

I have a set of BFG AT T/A KO2 in LT265/75R16 that came on the truck when I bought it last October. I just took them off and replaced them with 245/75R16 Firestone Destination LE3. I don’t off road and I tow a small travel trailer. Soooo much quieter and way easier to pull the trailer.

These will be for sale in MA. I’ll post a for sale. But here is a pic. Load range E. Only a few thousand miles.

Those are nice for off road, but I get a lot of snow and ice here along Lake Michigan in the winter. The K02's aren't great in the winter from my experiences. The Open Country on the other hand seemed to have plenty of traction last winter.

Dont over look the duratracs. Great tire in the snow . Great side profile. And pretty light 32lbs roughly depending on size
I run them on my truck. I really don’t off-road but. I want the look. They do get noisy but not horrible 0441D5D5-D58E-4B16-B229-B71BF0081610.jpg

Just a little update guys, and thanks to everyone for your opinions on everything. I ended up going with Moro Metal m907s 0 offset 4.5 backspace 16x8 on Toto Open Country At3s 245/75/16 (stock size) blacked out the emblems and I got a few other things in mind. Haven’t a loss in mpg switching from highways at stock size. Fill it up maybe every week and a half
