    Hey all,

New here with my 21 TRD OR in Cement. So pumped about having such a big community to ask my questions and to meet other taco owners. I'm about 1k miles down and this is my first truck and I love it.

I have a couple quick questions if anyone with experience can help me. I'm trying to decide my wheel and tire setup. I have a 2.5" lift ordered and on it's way. I'm not sure if I should go with 16" or 17" wheels. I've heard some people say there are way more tire options for 17" wheels?

I'd like to get Falken At3w's or Toyo's close to 32-33" and most probably putting those on some Method 701's, just upgrading sizes from stock, without getting into major rubbing territory. I do some wheeling, camping, and go to the snow all the time. Also a daily driver. But overall, I'm here to make it mean, less about the mpg's!

Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks everyone!

Like a 17 x 8.5 you think? I come from a subaru so it was all about getting the smallest rim and most tire, so I've just got my thinking all backwards. 17 seems to be what most people say. Thanks!

yes sir! thats just my opinion though. i come from a 2nd gen with 16" wheels so 17 to me is badass lol. with the lift though its gonna look good and you shouldn't have to cut anything. good luck!

Dope, thank you! Yeah, honestly 17's with a nice size tire will look great. I just love a big wheel, it makes everything better!!

17s are great and more tire options….but I would go 16s next time on my setup.
I have the 17s with 265 70 17 falken wildpeak and I wish I had a little bit more sidewall, I think it would make the ride softer.

Yeah I totally hear you. I really want to try out some falken at3’s and I’m not sure they make a 275/70 for 16’s. I’m kinda leaning towards a 32” instead of 33’s to avoid major rubbing.. but yeah I prefer more sidewall too. And I already have a 16” spare currently. Tough decisions, thanks for the input though!

This helps more than you know!! I have an Ironman 2.5” lift kit coming in and the wheels I was seriously considering were 701’s. I saw someone with some 16” 701’s and 285’s and it just looked so good. Thanks for posting up pics!!

No problem. I got my 701’s on extreme terrain in an open box deal, for around $60 off a piece. They had more in stock last I checked.
