That's what the Bronco Sport is and it seems to be doing well. There is definitely a market for them as many of the SUVs have gone for the cross-over/hybrid sort of look.

    Is that a Renegade?

Tough to tell with only 8 Renegade decals.

How awesome would that to be behind when it stops at a stoplight and 10 tiny clowns jump out, run around it, and all jump back in?

One of those clowns has to climb the ladder.

I think it would be manny, moe, and Jack jumping out… (and heading for the hills if they had my sense!)

I think little boys would like that if it was a hot wheels car, though…

I can agree with that, Ford is trying to assign a more offroad image to the Bronco Sport, but it ends up being more of a car and 100% a crossover vehicle. I forgot about the Mach E, which is what I had in mind for a performance hatch.

I don't think Ford wants to build anything to compete with the M-E. Which explains the Bronco branding on the Sport. Ford still has the regular Escape which is a more car like, CO. Which is the midsize car in their line up. Since Ford stopped building cars.

Back to the the Bronco sport, the Maverick will probably help Ford grow their CO segment. The Maverick is a Sport with a open bed.

The Renegade is sub-midsize, it's not a compact and it's not a midsize. What I think would sell is a sub-midsize Subaru STI wagon that resembled the Renegade.

One uses the ladder, one unfolds one out his/her pocket, places it on the opposite side. lots of loud circus music booms. Elephant noises too

If I could find an 80s Samurai that wasn't maimed or rusted to all hell in my area I'd buy it.

Obviously it's too new for anything other than initial oohs and ahhs - maybe an occasional barf on the Range-Rover likeness (for some). Reliability aside, it did quite well on Moab's favorite trails/ obstacles. How much more is expected from this class of vehicle? It's not a Wrangler (barf).
