I am in the Midland/Odessa area and would like to get a tune. I am willing to drive to the surrounding areas. Lubbock, Abilene or San Angelo. Is there someone within that area that offers a good performance tune?

If you drop the $$, you can get remote tunes using HP Tuners. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hp-tuners-for-2005-2015.600793 OVTune was banned from TW for reasons I don't know but was a good option for a time. The best plug-in-play is a UCON as it literally velcros to the back of the ECU and takes in all the plugs directly before relaying data to the ECU.

I had the UCON (want to buy one?), but I recently decided to go sweaty try-hard with HP Tuners.

I was unsuccessful in finding a shop in DFW that would tune a Tacoma given how different the ECU is from GM/Ford/Exotic engines the majority of high-performance applications use in this area.

I’m in the Abilene area and I got a KDMax tune a couple months back that was done by @A_Tacoma01
He’s out of Dallas but he will travel within reason to help you. He met me in Aledo to tune mine. He does an awesome job and he’s very knowledgeable about our trucks.

No problem! Also, you’ll love the tune. There’s different levels that you can select, I went only 1 level up from stock but the throttle response makes it seem like a different truck.

I ended up getting something worked out with @KalebG98 in Waco. I can't wait for this weekend. Now I have to figure out if I want a Regular aggressive throttle or the LT throttle.

I think the key difference might be throttle response between those two tunes if I remember correctly. I didn’t try the more aggressive tune just because when we test drove it after tuning it I was pretty good with how it drove. Hopefully he lets you try the different tunes to see which suits you best.
