I recently looked into upgrading my sub in my 3rd gen with the jbl system because it just isn’t enough for my taste, not very knowledgeable about sound systems just keep that in mind. What I’m looking for is just an upgraded component sub that will fit in the stock jbl box and upgraded compatible amp if needed. Thanks

    Not worth it.

the stock enclosure is garbage and not big enough or stuff enough to put anything bigger in. It was designed for the factory amp/sub and nothing more

he is right.... i tried that route and was deeply disappointed... upgraded to i thought better JBL gx series and the bass is now off sound... also did the fosgate sub swap.. ended up putting the stock sub back in.. now im just saving up for the oem audio plus... everyone claims its worth the investment...
