Yeah, being a newbie here I am certainly observing a trend; original post, others chime in with similar situation, answers come, then...2 or 3 get in a disagreement and duke it out for several days to the exclusion of the OP. I generally check out when this happens.:pccoffee: Getting involved in it is precisely what gives discussion boards a bad rep.

Case in point, I mentioned to a co-worker I had joined TW Forums. His response, "Oh my God! Why? Those people..."
    Peace out!

I conceal carry daily, I do not like leaving my hand gun in the truck at anytime, but there are times that you must. I found that putting a lock box under the back seat buried under all the crap I have in there. If I have to leave it, I am going to make it extremely hard for them to find it. The only way they will know it's there is if they watched be put in there. I'm very discrete and sometimes over cautious about that. I personally would not recommend putting your firearm under the front seat, thieves look there to see if a wallet or cash was hidden there. If you have to leave it, Make it HARD to find. Just my advise.

That was quoted for another member. Everyone should be carrying at the bank unless there is a sign on the door stating no firearms

    Nice man!
I had one in my Silverado, traded it in and looking at putting one in my new taco. Granted the Silverado one was much bigger.

Does anyone know if the Vaultek lifepod 2.0 will fit under the seat? The lifepod 2.0 is a little thicker and larger than the lifepod. Thanks!

I did not wanted to spend $100 bucks plus on a better made box so I purchased this one:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/2849796370...VD8OwhQT4-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

it is a metal box.. it will stop a grab and go case… someone would have to brake into car and drill rivets or pry the top off..

the whole purpose of this is to hold valuables and gun for short periods of time.. gun does NOT sleep inside car.

also bought a cabinet code lock on Amazon and replaced keyed lock.

    very useful for my needs.

Oh, forgot to say that I lined interior of it with carpet material also bought on Amazon… a fun little project.

Ps: after writing I read that op stated under seat, but I had the post written already….

Interesting, I read through this thread to see if anyone had a suggestion on a driver seat lock box for under the seat. So far none of the manufacturers have one that works for the Taco other than a jury rig system by using seat jacks. There are a lot of under the back seat systems, but I don't want to advertise locking up a gun before leaving the vehicle.

I realize a lot of those that commented back in August 2021 likely will not see this. Every state is adopting laws concerning locking firearms in vehicles that are un-attended. Here in Colorado, you must have a secured (harnessed to the vehicle) lock box, and the glove box compartment does not count. The number of smash and dash thefts are on the rise as is the likelihood of a firearm stolen from a vehicle being involved in a crime.

Because we travel a lot camping off the grid (now it’s called overlanding) I purchase the ‘Traveler’s Guide to Firearm Laws of the Fifty States’ to see if the reciprocity laws and vehicle travel with firearms have changed so I know what to do when passing through different states.
