The install of the brake light as opposed to the stock is just for looks. Wasn't fond of the chrome look of the stock one, and this fits the aesthetic I'm going with. Unnecessary? Sure! But it looks good to me!

Lights are definitely bright, two white ones light up the entire townhouse parking lot, so if you're looking to use them for camp lights I'd say go for it!

Appreciate it! Hope it helps anyone that's hesitant to attempt the install, it's definitely manageable.

I wasted money by mismeasuring the width of my bed and cutting the 2x4s for my truckbed sleeping platform too short by about an inch.

The plywood prices are astronomical. I saw $64 for ONE SHEET!

yeah. I'm just glad that have enough scrap left over from a project last year, to piece together the platform top for this project.

Depends on the plywood, I bought 8 sheets of 3/4" treated plywood for $76 a piece recently. It's a rip off but I needed it so I payed it.

For the cats, no meds, just pheremone collars. We put them in harnesses. They didnt care for it, but it kept them from freaking out. They still complained but at least they were still. We also got some potty pads and lined the cages and I made some spill proof water/food dishes for them. The harnesses were great for taking them out of the cages when we stopped- just clicked the leash on before letting them out(one at a time).

I can offer some tips on packing: you can't have too many blankets. Pack tightly and use tie downs every few feet across the load. put TV/mirrors and the like between matresses. put other flat thing such as pictures/artwork in cardboard between large items such as dressers/mattresses. All heavy stuff like tools on the floor. Plastic tubs are awesome to put misc stuff in and they stack well. ant odd things like bikes/wheels and other things that can bouce around go on top once everything is in place. The main thing is to leave little/no spaces and tie off the load every few feet, and use things like headboards dressers and mattresses for retaining walls between layers.

One of the benefits of the camper shell! I built a sleeping platform that i could pull out to access the cages, and it gave me room underneath for guns/ammo and such that didn't go in the Pod.
