I want to leave my 2019 Tacoma running with the A/C on while I and the fob go into a store. How can I do this? Now, when I get out, close the door and press the lock button on the fob, the truck locks briefly but then unlocks.

Can I do this? Tell me how!

    Thanks!

    Al

    Check build thread!
Lock the door with the physical key. It'll lock all 4 doors, and disable the proximity entry so someone can't just hop in. You will have to unlock it with the physical key again however.

Just dont. Be a decent human to the environment and turn your damn truck off. If its too hot for the dog in the truck without the AC, dont bring the dog in the first place.

Generally good advice, nd4spdbh! And actually I'm taking the dog into the Vet's clinic for some treatment and don't want the truck to get to hot while we're in there! It's forecast to be about 100 this afternoon and I want it to be reasonably comfortable for my Dachshund when we return! Thanks for the good thoughts!

It would be a better idea to avoid this all together. Yes you can lock your doors as mentioned above but your truck can still be driven away without the fob in it.

A better idea would be to turn off the truck. And get yourself some window sun shades/reflectors
    Maybe leave the windows cracked
Keeps the truck way cooler and better for your wallet and the earth

I had my truck windows tinted this week (all except the windshield) to the max that Florida state law allows. It makes a noticeable difference in temperature when I get in the truck. I have a Weathertech sun shade for the windshield. Something you may want to consider. The cost is reasonable.

Nothing screams environmental concern like bolting steel to an offroad vehicle. :spy:

Shut it off. Exit and remote start with the fob.
