Hi guys, so glad to finally join this forum!

After 12 years waiting, and 3 kids eating-up my savings, I was finally able to, once again, add a new truck to my garage!
I've loved trucks since I was young. My first 'new' car was a 2009 Toyota Hilux 4.0L V6 (oddly enough, also green)... Man, how I've missed this truck!

Since then, and after moving to Canada more than a decade ago, we've had a parade of second-hand, fuel-efficient, family-oriented, truly soul-less cars... Until now!
My commute is finally short enough that fuel-efficiency was not at the top of my car needs, and after what felt like endless months of unlucky browsing trying to find a nice, low-mileage, affordable used Tacoma, I decided to look into a new model, you know, just in case.

As you might imagine, with today's car shortages, the salesman almost laughed when I asked him if they had any "old inventory" in unusual colours that they needed to get rid off... And he, very quickly, started talking about 4-5 months wait for a 2022 model. That burst my bubble right then and there and I went home clearly disappointed.

Well, I guess they guy sensed that I was truly interested in an "unusual" colour, because 2-3 days later he called me saying that they had a 2021 Trail Edition in Army Green that had become available because the guy that was buying it couldn't secure financing... So he invited me in for a test drive.

Well, lo and behold my 2021 Army Green Tacoma SR5 Trail Edition!! I've never smiled more in a test drive than while driving this truck... I once more felt like the 20-something "kid" buying my first truck! I freakin' love this thing!

And, don't get me wrong, I truly appreciate the work Toyota did to make this Tacomas as reliable as they are, but there's nothing more fun (for me, at least) than customizing a car to truly represent you... So, not long after it was parked in my driveway, I started modifying it...

    Mods so far:
    - WeatherTech FloorLiners, because my wife told me I still need to let my kids ride with me from time to time. :ballchain:
    - BF Goodrich KO2s in 265/75/R16, because I didn't want to deal with any cutting/rubbing just yet, and
    - TRD Lift Kit included in the deal because, although a lot of you will roll your eyes to the waste of money that is; as a middle-aged man with a young family, being able to get the height I wanted, while covered under warranty and with all the safety features working with no issues, was well-worth the money! at least for me, it was.

    Upcoming mods:
    - I really like the SR5 wheels that this truck comes with, but I'm obsessed with how good bronze wheels look with the Army Green, so while I keep saving to get new/better wheels, I might try PlastiDipping or straight-up spray painting them bronze... Weekend project with my 8-yo boy coming up!
    - I also have some MB Quart components, and 10" sub from my previous car that I'm looking forward to installing next.
    - I ordered some killer-looking headlights from TacomaBeast, because the Trail Edition comes without LED lights, and I needed to fix that.
    - Finally, I'm considering a roof tent, because we love camping, but it rains WAY TOO MUCH where we live and I've waken up way too many times to a wet back for my liking.

And well, we'll see what comes next! But, I'm super excited to start reading some more great content around here and getting some great mod ideas. And maybe even meeting a few of you guys that I see cruising around the Fraser Valley. :canada:

    See you guys around!

Great looking truck. Nice that you upgraded the grill already too.
