I really don't think it's fair to compare the current debt balance with the one from 2007-2008. There are two key differences.

First, US household savings is also at an ATH. Meaning people can easily pay down a lot of that debt.

The second is the current prime rate of 3.25%. In 2007 it was 7.75%.

Need help making a decision here.

It's about the TV upgrade. I can wait for the new TCL's to drop in a month. That would get me into a 65' Google TV for about $1500 after tax. It would be the same TCL QLED panel that everyone really likes.

Or I could get the LG C1 65" on Big A right now. It's $2250 after taxes. I would also get a $200 Big A credit effectively lowering that price to $2050 after tax. It's an OLED panel and is a superior TV in both HDMI inputs and display. It has a 1ms response time. Better for gaming then any other TV on the market.

As far as the user interface goes I'm familiar with LG's webOS since my current TV is an LG. I've never used Google TV. I like Google a lot and think that their OS is the better one even though I've never used it. I also have a ROKU that will be hooked up to the TV as ROKU is my preferred OS.

Thoughts?

I’ve started using the DuckDuckGo browser on my iphone - it blocks trackers and show you which sites are trying to track you on a given site -Google is tracking you at most sites you visit, Facebook as well (and I don’t even use FB).
Update: Just checked - guess who has a tracker on Tacomaworld? Google.

the LG was my vote...i've got a sony android based and it's pretty good...but i think roku has a better UI.
you can side load stuff with android though...so there is that..

i mean i'm a droid guy since fuck apple...you could always install APKs, just way more open of a platform...apple is very closed off.
i'm a PC guy originally. i do think there's some credence to providing a 'secure' app marketplace...but that obviously isn't exactly true since i'm sure there's bullshit apps on there right now that just hack your shit, on both Apple and Google
