We had a guy get busted here in my area this week with 20 converters in his car. He was so brazen that he hit Home Depot, Comfort Inn and dealership row here in the area. He just went from car to car. The guy is 40 years old and was wearing his work shirt when they ID'd him on a video. He was doing this going to work and coming home. Trying to support his addiction.
Why cant they nail the scrap yards that buy them from these idiots.

Best option I have seen so far, just placed a order for our taco and 4Runner with bolts. Glad we found this and your local to us!

 

I just saw in the local paper here in Tucson that the local PD is offering a free service where they'll etch the last 8 digits of your VIN onto the cat.... so when my cat is stolen, replaced, and forgotten about, the original will turn up 4 months later? I guess it would help catch the thief, but seems like preventing it in the first place makes more sense...

 

Probably could have helped find the owners of these, I think mine is in there somewhere.

If your cat gets stolen just replace it with an aftermarket one. They’re only worth $20 to the recyclers so no one will bother messing with it again.

My shop was hired to replace stolen cats on 20+ used Tundras from several dealerships.

BTW Tundras are a way more sought after target than Tacomas. There’s 4 cats on those. After doing all those replacement jobs I was sick of Tundras.

 

Had this made/installed 12 years ago... it's not pretty but it works.

It’s around 20 pounds.

 

Installed it yesterday. Easy install.

 

Got them in today , very nice kits simple bolt on with no issues, easy after work project.

Installed on our 2020 pro 4Runner and 2019 off-road taco with trd pro skid.

The security hardware is not cheap very good quality.

I would recommend to anyone wanting protection from cat theft.
