Hey guys. I thought of a cool little mod by using the remote wire attached to my amp.
I was going to try to power a small led light strip above the amp. I heard I can only draw 2 amps from a remote wire. I dont really want to run a relay but it would be easy with the amp right there for power.

Does anyone know how many amps you can draw from the remote wire?

Why don’t you just grab 12v wire from the cigarette lighter? I’m not sure exactly what your doing but for a light strip I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

Dear god why didnt I think of that the good old trusty hack into the cig lighter. Way smarter idea and keep amp isolated.
I thought it might be cool to have a light turn on when the stereo was on and you would see glowing orange back from where the sound is coming from. But now Im going to the lighting forum.
