difference between new and old TB gasket?

    I cleaned my MAF and TB over the weekend.
    Why is the new gasket different than the old one?

    I replaced mine a month ago and I didn’t get the “screen”

    It likely fell apart and sucked into the motor or jammed in the intake runner

    interesting. I know toyota has done similar in the past (3rd gen 4 runner vs 1st gen tacoma) But never seen anything like this on the 2nd gen.

    I was thinking it's there to help with atomizing the fuel but then I realized that fuel doesn't touch that.
    Maybe something to do with airflow?
