Motor mounts huh? Couldn't y'all get away with removing the front drive shaft and jack the engine up a bit? Ive done them two to three times and didn't remove any lines or wires.

Same. PS pump and compressor have all the slack that they need to relocate out of the way.

 

You have to jack the engine up a little regardless.

 

the feedback I got was you could do it without removing the driveshaft as well you just need enough to pull them out. so yah just a little bit as @12TRDTacoma noted. Its more about getting to them so you can get them out. A lot of crap around them. The passenger side seems doable. the driver side is a bit more challenging. Saw one guy do it on a pre-runner and looked much easier since none of the 4wd stuff was there. Realy did not want to remove all of that but if I do then time to start installing the new suspension w hile I'm at it.

 

I'll tell you right now I did not remove anything to do mine. Did it make it that much more complicated in doing so? Absolutely. In hindsight, I could and should had removed the front driveshaft and the compressor but I wanted to simplify the install process. Surprisingly enough I still got it done in good time but it did make things much more difficult to access using tools regardless of whether or not they were swiveling.

It's as they say, hindsight is 20/20.

 

makes sense. This may speed up installing my new setup as I need to remove the axles and some other stuff. removing the driveshaft isn't too bad. I was hoping to not have to remove other crap but then again may be a good time to catch up on a few things if needed.

 

Should I or should I not build a 5.7 motor? We warrantied a short block at work cuz it had a bad rod bearing. They needed up not calling it back and threw it away. So I couldn’t let that thing go. So all it needs it a rod bearing and the crank cleaned up or I could put pistons and rods in it and build it.

Going to put it in a Tundra? Then why the heck not. Or even sell it.

 

That’s what I’m thinking. Keep it for the tundra for when I get money to build that. Or just sell it. Should be worth a pretty penny.

Well I am back from my little hiatus, and you crazy mofos almost made me read 100 pages to catch back up

Was nice seeing some old names popping in here again.

I saw some possible progress on the efan with ac set speed but wasn’t sure if anyone tried it with the lingenfelter controller? Just the other day even while moving it took my ac awhile to start working, thought maybe it went out but it eventually started blowing cold.
