Bought this 2001 Tacoma SR5 TRD from a buddy with 320k miles from a hunting buddy, the previous owner before him had it for about 200k and I hunt with him as well. I know how the truck was taken care of so the miles don't scare me, it's also been a southern truck it's whole life. Picked it up for 3k

It needs a sunroof which has been a pain to find a nice used replacement for a factory moonroof truck.

My goal is to keep this thing on a BuDgEt build, as it's a 3rd car for me and if I was to ever do my dream tacoma build it would be a 2nd gen 4dr. I have a long background owning crawlers and even had a factory turbo 86' turned into a truggy. My goal is KISS (keep it simple stupid) so I'm trying to make it a great woods, light wheeling, hunting truck to keep my diesel out of the woods.

    the truck
    [IMG]Untitled by tn97d90, on Flickr

already picked up an Addicted offroad tube bumper and Smittybilt 9500 for 600
4x innovations dom sliders on the way
    knock off safari snorkel
    raptor liner kit for bed

    [IMG]Untitled by tn97d90, on Flickr

My friend who owns it is a smoker so plan to pull the interior apart and install some stereo equipment I have laying around, also going to dynamat the cab because I have it laying around, and why not?

    Still need to buy
    - Skid plates
    - rear frame plates (cheap and I can weld)
    - carplay headunit

Debating on selling the addicted offroad bumper and putting those funds towards a Coastal offroad high clearance bumper, really hate how much this sticks out

on the way I have CBI ditch brackets, still waiting on getting the ruck as my friend lost the title so state going to take two weeks. Found a replacement sunroof used for 75.00 so pumped on that

More parts have come in, but still waiting for my friend to get the replacement title as he lost the last one, Hope he didn't misplace the giant binder of maintenance history it had as well. So truck still isn't in my possession and I really wish it was because I need to start on it

Finally found a replacement sunroof that wasn't crazy for a used one, using car-part.com I tracked down a salvage yard about 70 miles away with one for 75.00 instead of 1600 for a new one. Gotta love smalltown KY. Had a slow day at work so drove up and got it, was pretty nasty but cleaned up super easy and no hard water spots so happy .

So I sold my Addicted offroad bumper after finding a deal on a Coastal offroad high clearance on facebook that was never put together. I rattle canned Bedliner the Bumper and ended up getting $500 for it. So now I'm $100 into the winch and 550 into new bumper, which puts me only 650 into a bumper and winch for the exact bumper I wanted only $50 more than I was into the tube bumper and winch

Cleaned up pretty nice, probably going to rattle can bedline the sliders etc when I get ready to install those.

Need to stop trying to make this thing pretty because it's suppose to be my woods truck, but OCD will get the best of me.

Buffed the door and it's turning out okay but the paint still has fading as apparent in the fender flare pic

getting closer, been raining really bad the last couple of days and I can't fit the truck in my garage. Found this camera on Amazon and a thread on here about reverse cameras in the tailgate, since I plan on doing a coastal offroad rear bumper I won't have the plate mount anymore so wanted to stay ahead. screwed up the hole location by a little bit as you can see it overhang a smidge but overall very happy with it.

Got the double din buttoned up and added the USB panel from a person on here for a clean look.

my brother is an auto broker and his shop also works on cars so I get a fat discount on parts. Went ahead and bought lbj's because I have no clue how many miles are on these
