Why not knock out the puddle pods then do the v5's? from what I understand the once you have the puddle pods installed you don't need to take apart the interior and/ or remove the door panels. Look on the harness of the puddle pods, you have an extra connector that leads to the mirrors for the V5's, fish it through to the mirror housing and wait for the release of the V5's.

*if* he has the extra connector. Not all made made have it. I think the first batch didn’t. But there are more out there that do than don’t.

Do they play nice if you install the v5 first, then the puddle lamps down the road?

Shouldn’t be a problem. I’m sure a lot of people will end up doing that who do not have puddles.
The drl wiring for the turns will be run to the headlights to work with the headlight drl stalk function. So you can turn them off or on like stock function (for non Canada models) I believe they cannot turn of drl. Not sure what years or if they are all like that?
My understating is for people of have puddles with the V5’s connector will not be able to turn off drl function and will be on as long as the truck is running.
Edit: if you add puddles down the road you can wiring them to the puddles or leave them connected to the headlights as is. Works either way.
Or if you add v5 just as turns they just hook up to your turn wiring and can choose to wire the drl function however you choose with or without puddles

any variation with or without puddles now or later, you’re good.

I’m not sure whether the amber or white would look better. What is everyone going with?

    I’m getting White DRL.

not sure how soon I’ll install them. Still love my limited switchbacks and still work perfect almost 3 years later.

Yeah im leaning towards white as well. Amber is a little too “commercial” i think…

If it’s an option, I’ll do white drl and amber signal.

    Amber/amber.

In retrospect, if I could do it all over again, I might opt for all white accents with amber switchbacks, but for now I've committed enough to the amber running lights that itd take a hefty wallet hit to switch. So blue truck amber lights remains!

Feel like I might be flushing money down the drain, but I don't have plans to run the DRL at all. Mostly just buying these for the high quality and reverse sequential to match the headlights

No shame in that. Still have the option to if you ever change your mind.

heck, I wouldn't be surprised if that option came out later on V4.5's? or just replaced the current V4's all together. Just speculating though

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
I think the white DRL/Amber signal matches the stock LED headlights perfectly, so that's what I'll be going with. A great ancillary benefit to these is the built in turn signal circuit resistors, the cleanest solution for hyperflash that is as functional as it gets.
