If I was in your position I would do the following:

Minimize the amount of work needed to restore it back to running operational condition (ie replace the rod bearing, clean up the crank) and sell that son of a bitch for a pretty penny and never look back. It's basically free money, so why not make some out of it while you still have the opportunity.

Unhook hard lines in front of engine then I used a ratchet strap with 2 s hooks and wrapped around the hard lines then pivoted the compressor out of the way for another project. Radiator and fan were removed at time.

Hey Fellas! I hope your all well up there! got a diff question. My manual Ute runs 3.58 diff gears. Thinking of changing to 3.909 gears which are standard in the automatic version of my Ute. I need a bit more low down torque for take off when towing or carrying heavy stuff which is quite often for me.
    Only running 235/75/R15. Standard tires.
Will changing to 3.909 be enough to help me low down you think? Up high in 5th will obviously rev a tad higher but I’m thinking only maybe 300rpm more. many advise or thoughts?

That is odd. Our PreRunner and 4x4 models, of the Hilux varient, come with 3.73:1. Yeah. That upgrade will help quite a bit. Especially if you don't change to a larger diameter tire.

Did I lose a fuel float arm clip? Does that clip help with the readings or just hold the arm in place? Is there a part number for it? I'll keep looking around but I don't remember removing it, and it's not in the gas tank

I don't see anything on the bucket to obtain readings with. So it's likely you lost the clip which takes the reading of the tank based on the position of the arm.

It is contact that completes the circuit, for the fuel level sender. Missing.

Work called so search stalled. It must've came off when I took the float off, right? Really hope it's not in the backyard where I washed the res...and then mowed and bagged the lawn...

Sounds like you may be in the market for a fuel pump module here then.

I would put a zip tie on it and make sure it does not interfere. Best of luck.

just got done pressure washing the engine bay. had no idea part of the steering rack was silver. and man, i guess when i pulled the engine out and put the coil bucket gussets in the last time, i must have painted the engine bay while the engine was already back in cuz man that was a shit paint job and it was mostly just the rust red primer and no black. not this time though. will get it primed and painted either tomorrow or thursday.
