Solar gurus?

So I need a folding solar panel for my

Golabs r300 that powers my cpap. I have looked at Amazon and utube. So what’s TW experience with these things? I’m a noob with this sun stuff. Any recommendations with some actual long term use? Looking for info from 60 to 100W. Thanks fellas!

Also I know know that these things are actually rated higher than what you get.LoL

Nice, that’s the same suitcase panel I use. It works great and in full sun you definitely get the full 100w.

Golabs r300 and it looks like a nice setup. In fact you should already have the cable you’ll need to plug into the solar panel. The Golabs has built in charge controller so you can get the cheapest option for that Renogy folding panel (the one without charge controller).

 

I use a renogy 100w suitcase for my teardrop camper and it works great. Built in solar controller and water proof.

 

One of the reasons I got the r300 was the battery technology with the lifepo4, now to match it up with a solar panel is the next task. I was thing about a 60 w but now I think in may be smarter to go with a 100 watt. And your correct the solar connectors came with it. MC4 I think they call them.

 

There's alot to learn for solar. But fun and not terribly difficult. I Built an off grid workshop this past fall. I've got 4 of these panels.

Depends what you are trying to do but these are half the price and just as portable. Solid panels.

I have a 12v system with two 100ah lithium batteries, 4 100w renogy panels, a

$144 renogy 40a DC to DC on-board battery charger for flooded, gel, AGM, and lithium, using multi-stage charging in rvs, commercial vehicles, boats, yachts, 40A

renogy 40a solar mppt, and a 1200w inverter. I run a window ac unit, my bandsaw, lathe, charge my cordless tools, have a TV and radio. Setup runs great. Same problem for me, outbuilding was too far back, didn't want to run a conduit, also wanted to learn about solar. Was a fun project. Just make sure you size your system appropriately, will talks about that in a few videos.

I don't want to threadjack this but I'm wondering if any solar experts can guide me on an idea of mine which may not even be feasible. I have a boat with a 36v trolling motor, it uses 3, group 31, 105ah deep cycle batteries. I use this to continually troll for fish (not bass fish with sporadic use, constant use). I will easily burn half my battery capacity in 4 or 5 hours using this system, it's a 4000lb boat and a very powerful electric motor. I am wondering if there is any point in trying to supplement my system with solar, or if it's possible to charge my setup in any amount of short time frame. I camp quite often and if I can recharge off the grid it would be amazing. All I see is watt ratings, so that's why I am confused... the onboard charger I have for the 3 battery setup is a 30amp charger and it usually recharges the 3 batteries from a hard day of use as it's plugged in overnight.

Just want to see if there is a way to charge this setup off grid.

 

Yes, I think that could work. Check out this informative and funny video from Steve Wallis where he uses solar to charge a trolling motor on a little homemade pontoon boat.
