Would look nice with a hybrid front bumper.

 

Looks nice but add a license plate light to be legal and a place for the 7 pin trailer connector.
Hitch needs to be rated for the max of the Tacoma towing like 6500lbs and tested.
You have a great idea here as the stock bumper is too low and when you come off ledges or larger boulders the bumper flexes up and breaks the taillights.
I see the front by the wheels has a bar to the frame, that's smart.

Thank you for that feedback! The hitch connection is hidden. I'll ask about the lights. Any aftermarket bumper isn't really going to have a known tow rating. Yeah we love the bar design!
