Goforit! That's my vote if it fits your budget. Definitely the best option out there currently IMO. Now what about the rear? haha

I didnt have QA1 money when I did my diy coilovers, so I was looking for alternatives to get the same desired outcome for less money. I may go that route when these shocks are worn, though. Same low budget strategy on the rear.. and now I am looking into the Skyjacker lift springs. They only supply 2.5-3in of lift for SOA Prerunners, so hoping that some of that lift (1" maybe) will translate to a SUA 5 lug axle. Then with the Maxtrac shackles, can be adjusted to match the lift in the front. I fear it will end up more bro-leaned than I am currently though. The reason I am fond of this setup is that you don't lose the overload leaf and its a bolt on fit, but I cannot find anybody that's installed it on a 5-lug to have an idea of its lift amount on our trucks. AALs are all clacked out after a few years, but they did their job in that timeframe.

I'm gonna try to get the front done before worrying too much about the rear. But that was my idea, I hadn't heard of skyjacker but was considering the OME springs or something like that. Hoping for an inch or so of lift and a nice ride, then lift as desired with shackles and then find a rear shock that fits the setup.

I called fabtech and they are way backordered on the spindles. Trying to find an actual in stock reseller online otherwise I'll probably put in a backorder

Ordered the coil over adapters and backordered the spindles. I'll get the UCAs on the way and then so some more spring research

Talked to the guys at QA1, they said with that IFS I should be looking at 7-8"of wheel travel, which while I realize travel isn't everything, made me comfortable enough to pull the trigger

    So I bought:

    Fabtech 4130-7 3" lift spindle
    Doestch UCA for 3" lifts

QA1 GS501-11300A coil overs (GS501 is the type of shock that works on the 2WD tacoma with the MJB adapters, 11300A gave me a 300lb spring rate for an 1800lb front end (Which is still probably too high)

    MJBFab coilover adapters

    all 4 OEM ball joints 43330-39565, 43340-39445, 43350-39105, 43360-39095

moog lower control arms RK642949/RK642948 ( I figured these would be "just az gud" and while I have the OEM LCAs out I am going to look for a way to get some poly bushings on them, and weld up a bit of reinforcement

Front sway bar bushing 8.5123G and 8.5117G (25mm and 26mm parts, bought both and will return whichever one I don't use, seems like I have a 25.5mm sway bar lol)

Prothane stut bar bushing kit 18-1202-BL

    (2) moog tie rod end kits ES80309 and EV409

Energy suspension tie rod boots 9.13101G (I am hoping these will go on to the moog kits for a better boot, we will see)

Half the stuff is here the rest should be here next week. I'll definitely update as I see how it goes.

So what am I going to do about the rear? I am thinking about just having a custom leaf pack built in with the lift I want out of it as opposed to messing with shackle lifts. Not ordering anything until the front end is 100% done but just trying to get the ball rolling for ideas. Also, the energy suspension steering rack bushings are only for 4wd, anyone know of a 2wd steering rack bushing upgrade?

do like a set of f67s in the rear if youre really going the mid travel route imo. Throw a crossover bar or extended length shock hoops for a set of 10 in shocks for the rear. super exciting i cant wait to see how your build progresses! keep us updated!

F67s do not bolt in. New hangers and shackle mounts will need to fabbed.
F67s will make the truck stink bugged. I put F67s on when I went long travel and the rear was still too high. Removed 3 leafs to get it close to level.

A custom leaf pack is gonna run me about $800, OME springs and a good shackle are about $400. Are custom leafs $400 better than a shackle lift? Is there a shackle lift that doesn't suck?

I had a 2003 5 lug, these trucks arent made to offroad. You will snap ball joints real fast. If u wanna do a lift, then thats cool but dont risk getting hurt. Go full long travel or just lift it and dont offroad it.

On that note, i have the fabtech add a leaf if someone wants it.
