We have tuners in Tampa and Jacksonville. Here is the Authorized KDMax Pro tuner map.

My local tuner seems to be MIA and there are no open times on his calendar at all. I got a message about some family issues so understandable, but in the meantime how can I get my truck tuned without driving to another state?

1.You could reach out to the other tuners near you and try to make arraignment for a meet up.
2.You could purchase the vftuner system and buy a KDMax tune pack and tune it yourself. You can purchase tune packs from @TWTaco or @PapaRee.
I would try making arraignment with other tuners as a 1st choice.

Looks my nearest option would be Kansas.

So that brings up another question. How does this network of tuners work? If one person does the tune but then I need some sort of follow up do I have to go back to the same person or can anyone help? Or is up to the individual as in they'll help if they feel like it or I pay a fee? I've never been very clear on how any of this works and what sort of on going support exists. It kind of feels like shopping on CL. You get what you get and good luck.

I guess doing it myself is the best for long term, but the only reason I'm interested is that I don't have to buy the whole system. I was never $750 unhappy with the truck but for $400 I'll experiment.

You can follow up with any tuner in our group for any changes needed. You will be taken care of!

You may want to give your local tuner Adam @MGMSangTaco a little time. He will most likely be able to help you in the near future.

Sorry if this has been asked here, but 131 pages is a lot!

my 2018 OR has the kdmax tune, and I get a weird surging acceleration in 1st&2nd gear, almost feels like it’s running super rich, like a hesitation/bogging down feeling.

    Any ideas?

Got my tune last week had my first opportunity to test it yesterday on a trip to our cabin in Crown King AZ at 6500’. Phoenix at 1000’ up the 17 where my truck would constantly shift up and down so far down it would hit 5600 rpm or more…… yesterday it down shifted exactly 3 times 2 just 200 rpm from 1800 to 2000 rpm and once a whole gear 3500 rpm but that was it! That alone was worth the tune not to downplay the record mpg I got, when I go down next week I’ll let you know how that turns out! Love my new new truck!

Great feedback. I just got mine done last weekend. Driving it to CO in a few weeks and wanted to get it done before the trip. Glad to here the run up 17 is improved. Last time we went to Prescott it got pretty annoying. Did you ECT at all or just leave it in drive?

No ECT at all this trip wanted to see how it did without…….and it did great! If you’re familiar with the area I got 21mpg to Cleater 19.7 pulling into Crown King ittle probably be 25 or more heading down
