I waited about a month for my new Tacoma. First one that came in had issues, and the replacement came in today.

Got some of the goodies installed when I got home. Still have the lift and SPC UCA's to install. But here's a few pictures. (More to come but I ran out of light. Looking good! Those leds in the bed make such a difference. Now you need a bed mat and tonneau cover

But you're a guy (or possibly a dog) on the interwebz who claims it happened to his neighbor. Soooo....color me unconvinced.

Maybe there's a booming black market for Tacoma tailgates on the west coast? Or maybe you're a dog who runs a webpage that sells tailgate locks? I think we all know which one is the more likely scenario.

Whoa to all those tailgates… that’s crazy haha. Thankfully my truck is always in the garage if it’s not at the store, golf course or the middle of nowhere haha. Otherwise I’d prob get a lock too.

    First off, nice truck.
I know it's too late now but wouldn't it have been easier to install the running boards if you installed the brackets on the truck first instead of installing them on the running boards first?

What am I missing here guys? The anti theft tailgate lock costs about $110 and the remote tailgate lock costs about $150. The anti theft lock only prevents someone from removing the tailgate from the truck while the remote lock prevents the tailgate from being opened. Don’t you have to open the tailgate first if you were going to steal it? By spending an additional $50 you prevent the gate from opening AND if you ever were to put a top on the truck you also protect items that are placed in the bed.

I’ve misunderstood many times before so I respectfully ask this time what am I not following?

Its easy to break the lock with a screwdriver but not the sabelco. Out truck already has that lock as standard equipment. Sabelco only prevents the tailgate to be stolen

Yeah ok . A few months ago people had their tailgates stolen a few towns from me (about a :45 min-1 hour from me).
    Not where I live:
    https://www.chron.com/neighborhood/...ice-Truck-tailgates-being-stolen-12856552.php

    https://abc13.com/tailgate-theft/723034/

Mine is in a garage too at home, but that doesn’t help when I go on vacation.
I go on road/vacations trips a lot, and we have 2 planned already in a few months. I’m thinking of getting this before my trips.

I don’t think these tailgates are cheap either. I never had to price one and I hope I don’t need too.
