Hey all, I'm a long time lurker, new member.

Leaf springs on my 2010 are shot and need to be replaced, and I'm seeking recommendations. I've seen recs on here for General Spring and Auto and Truck Springs, which look to be a good deal. I've also seen Old Man Emu on 4 Wheel Parts. I'm open to ordering from any of those, however the main appeal with 4 Wheel Parts is that I can pick them up from the store. I live in an apartment and porch pirates run rampant here, so I'm hesitant to have springs delivered to me.

Also wondering if I should go light/medium duty or heavy duty. I have an ARE cap on the bed, and typically don't carry anything too heavy. Once or twice a year I'll do a long road trip carrying 600-800 lbs of musical equipment.

I'm somewhat inclined to just go with heavy duty, but I'm concerned that the amount of lift would require that I also lift the front end, or get new suspension all around. I'm not quite ready to go down that rabbit hole just yet :)

Have you looked at the Icon RXTs? Just another of the options out there. A lot of guys are running them, myself included. What appealed to me was they are "tunable" by swapping or adding additional leafs as necessary. (All included) for desired lift and capacity. Pretty sure there is a thread on them already. Use the search up top.
One of these days I should learn how to post a link for situations like this...

The springs on it now… are they worn out original 3-leaf springs or are they worn out 4-leaf “TSB” springs?

Based on what you’re saying you aren’t looking for much (if any) lift over the stock height. Especially since it sounds like you’re not lifted in the front and don’t plan to.

If you go with something like an OME or RTX leaf pack you’re likely going to be higher than you want in the rear with a stiffer ride you may not enjoy.

If you’re on an old 3-leaf pack I’d recommend getting the dealer to replace with the 4-leaf TSB springs and then see how you like it. That may be all you need. This should be free for them to replace under the TSB.

If you then decide you want a little more lift to compensate for the shell you can determine what is the best route to take. Perhaps an add a leaf or even an airbag kit for when you haul heavier loads.

Going with a full upgraded leaf pack could leave you with WAY more lift than you want. The medium duty OME, for example, is made to lift 2.75” above the stock height. If your springs are sagging 1” now due to age then you’ll end up with a net lift of 3.75” over where you are now. Going with the heavy duty leaf pack would give you even more lift and a harsh ride since that leaf pack is designed for constant additional load over the stock weight.

Personally, I would suggest against any of the aftermarket leaf packs that are designed for lift unless you actually want a lifted truck and plan to lift the front in concert with the rear.
