Was a guess. I presume you want lighter, not stiffer. But, I've never road coursed a truck!

 

Stiffer is good for the road. Off road I think a bit softer but this is like OEM plus kinda deal.

 

The new uca are light.

Yeah it was really crazy how much the wind affected me.

No i haven't had the chance to make it back to Austin yet to get the update/ change my tune for the 4.88. I might do it next weekend. I did get the 500 mile break in done though. Everything has been working out nicely. No howling or strange noises. Also, when we did the drain and fill barely any metal shavings on the catch. Just some minor verrry fine stuff. I'm pretty happy with this install. Now i'm excited on what the update to the tune will do!

 

Yeah i can't really complain to much since i'm lifted and have a decent amount of weight but running smaller tires (32s) and averaging about 20 highway and 18 in town. Im curious if the shell thats coming in will hurt or help my mpgs. I know it will add more weight, but i'd also think it would make it a little more aerodynamic and cut through the wind better.

We shall see.

 

On another note... I picked up brand new URD performance y pipe from a guy down in corpus. In theory, this should open up the engine a bit more. If anything just eliminating that stupid hanging bend by the transfer case. Ill try installing that thing tomorrow.

 

I have 32” tires as well.
I track all my mileage and I did not see much, if any difference, positive or negative when I added my cap. I was thinking it would improve the aerodynamics too, though I think if there is a difference it’s probably negligible.

 

It might be where the weight and aerodynamics just cancel each other out?
