What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

One of my air stem valve covers went missing, so I stopped at an auto parts place to replace them all because they are green, which I thought was a very strange color for valve covers on a new truck. Auto parts dude told me green valve covers mean there is nitrogen in your tires. Why the heck would Toyota put nitrogen in the tires of new vehicles? Is this a thing?

And isn't the whole nitrogen-in-tires deal kind of a waste? I mean, it's a truck not a race car. Do I get rid of it (the nitrogen, not the truck)? Just add regular air on top of it when I need some?

I think nitrogen doesn’t escape as quickly from your tires. It costs more to fill your tires with nitrogen that’s for sure.


If you’re gonna air up and down it’s a waste of time and money to have them filled with nitrogen. Yes it’s a thing that all manufacturers do.

 

Costco uses green caps as well for nitrogen inflation. Nitrogen is more stable than air with temperature fluctuations, so your psi won't drop or increase as much when it gets cold or hot. It’s nasty. Detailed it earlier, but it took me forever to finish. Was too dark to take some final result pics… hoping the cat doesn’t decide to nap on my roof tonight.

Got sick of the ugly stock battery and tie down, truck is 2 years old and some people here have had battery failures so I figured I’d make a little project out of it.

Have you decided upon a method of fully charging the AGM battery? I have consider getting a similar battery, but don't know how I would keep it topped off.

 

Replaced the rear bumper cover / end cap. I couldn’t find a very detailed video so I made one.

I’m more of a pro. I do about 75-80 nitrogen in all my tires with a mix of other gases. I’ll share my secret if you PayPal me money.

edit: beat! Someone already ruined my fun.

 

It rained this morning and it looks to work well. Most other products would have ran.

 

I already did it about a year ago cuz it was rattling against my rear anti-sway bar.

 

put 3 more holes in the box of my truck LOL. installed the snaps for the front panel of my SofTopper. Next job is to get a couple crimps so I can run the bedlight that's at the front of the bed up and put it on one of the Softopper rails, assuming I can get it unstuck without damaging it.
