Glad you got it figured out. Just went through the carbs on my gen 1 sv650. Crazy how rock hard those little rubber bits can get. Side note I have that same bike pump the thing is awesome. That's a pretty creative use for it.

So you are just trying to clean up and simplify all the accessories and whatnot? Looks much cleaner after you got rid of those big Ol donkey blinkers and plate holder..

Flip the mirrors down and it looks even cleaner, however you have to look below your arm in order to use the mirrors, thats the way I have mine on there and its actually not too bad as far as visibility goes. I can see pretty well with the mirrors.
    Lookin good dude!

IMO its best to vary the RPM a lot and not let it set in one RPM for a really long time (like cruising) I have been racing/riding and building motors most of my life at this point and most of the break in procedures are waaay overkill and only trying to protect the manufacturer more than the owner. What they dont tell you is if you break the engine in by pussyfooting around too much you will get a bad ring seal and the bike will never have full compression. As far as my race bikes as long as I do 4 or 5 heat cycles and rid it for about 10 minute its ready to be ridden like I stole it, always works great and always get perfect compression using this technique.

Those needle/seats go bad quite often, should be good to go now. The problem nowadays at least here in California is the ethanol in the fuel eats up the needle seat after time, and here in Cali the fuel is MANDATED to have 10% ethanol. Jackass politicians!!!!!! They are good at one thing, screwing things up!! And the sad part is they are getting better at their craft, a bit concerning if you ask me!

I like slimming the profile down like I did on my last two bikes. Subtle touches like that make the overall lines of the bike cleaner IMO. Still need to address the handlebars for my arm length but they’re not terrible for now.

Exhaust is en route to be delivered Monday, but I have to go pick it up in AZ. Revzilla doesn’t accept your pinky-promise anymore that you won’t put non CA compliant parts on your street bike. They used to have a small box at check out that you’d click on when ordering parts that said it was for off-road/race use only but not anymore. No shipping to CA at all. Womp womp.

Even when you have brand new pistons and machined cylinders? Well if its working for you then run it, lol.

Just back from Charlottesville, VA. Did the Skyline Drive through Shanendoah National Park one day and then went south on the Blue Ridge Parkway the next. Real pretty ride both directions. Hot as hell the first day - hit 103 in the afternoon.

    Nice pics!

And did you stick to the 35 mph speed limit??? I live right near the Front Royal entrance and will ride there once/twice a month. Been very lucky so far 'cause most of the twists and turns beg to be taken at 50+... :plane:

We did. I like to push it a little but my wife is a rule follower. I keep threatening to cover her speedo so she can't see it and has to follow me closer.

I love my AT, but I'm ready to try something else. I threw it up on Craigslist after the trip just to see what happens. I like toys and switching things up. Looking at the Kawi Versys 1000 or the Ducati Multistrada V4 next. We'll see.

Got such a good deal I couldn't pass up a fly-n-ride. Though it wasn't a super comfortable 800 miles home it sure was fun!

How's the 250L Rally treating you? There's a few with low miles for sale locally that I'm thinking about picking up for some light duty offroad and adventure-ish riding.

Question for the peanut gallery…..former coworker back in California wrecked his bike recently. Luckily he’s good, but I guess the bike is toast. Anywho, apparently he was riding, cruising along and his front break locked up. Obviously sending him down. :notsure: Haven’t actually talked to him, he was with another guy who filled me in. Is this a thing? If it is, what do y’all think might have been the cause? He has a ‘20 Iron 883. Google isn’t necessarily clear on this.

I can’t think of anything right away that would cause the front brake to lock up unexpectedly. I am always cautious of my brake lever when I’m splitting lanes and things get tight between cars, but nothing that stands out as an obvious mechanical failure that would cause it. Maybe some more info from your buddy might help.
