Crap I have one at the house waiting to put on. I haven’t even thought about the drive through car wash. Y’all think it will rip it off? (I’m lazy)

My install was full diy being I put a snorkel from one Toyota model on a totally different Toyota. Even then it just came down to verifying hole placement and measuring three times. I used a 3/4” chassis punch to make my fender bolt holes and they came out super clean and left lots of adjustability.

As far as the A-pillar mount. Yeah no way I was going to drill it. I used legit 3m VHB to affix the bracket. Even vhb, despite proper prep and application can give over time. Some of what I applied is peeling up just how I affixed it. It’s solid otherwise. Some use Velcro or a magnet mount. I’d probably skip magnetic as it will run over time.

I’ve to hear and thanks for the insight. I’ll go that route as well if I end up ordering one.

I love my snorkel. Cooler air temps and it's a lot of fun to have one. I have the Airflow. I live in SouthEast Coastal Georgia so it's nice getting air from higher up. I didn't drill into the A Pillar. Life is too short, build your truck how you like it.

Depends on the type of drive through car wash. Some beat the crap out of cars with that giant spinning drum and some are more gentle glide types.

Thanks for the clarification, although I would hazard a guess that having a snorkel would embolden some to try to cross a creek/river or flooded street.

    ARB Safari snorkel

    Totally worth it.

    Pros:
    Cleaner cooler air
    Looks cool as hell
Noticed a small increase in fuel economy

    Cons:
Gets mistaken for an exhaust stack
Gets lumped into the instalander class

Dunno if it will work with your custom airbox but it works with my FJ cruiser airbox and tube.

    Sup Brian!

If you actually read the manual (at least Safari's) it even says they're just for dust and water crossings are not recommended "without further modification and sealing of the intake system" but yeah if you put some FIPG sealant on the couplers it certainly is better for water than the stock opening in the fender inlet.

Sup, Yea every manufacturer has to put that for legal reasons. They cant put "ok to drive through water on there" Then ppl would go and do it, water would leak in then they would have tons of lawsuits. That's why Toyota put it as "desert air intake". There's a reason its called a snorkel. That's what they were initially intended as. That being said i put mine on for air improvements and the time im trekking down a river or mudhole thats deeper than i thought.

It looks more compact and tighter fitting than these others sticking way out there.

Oh yeah absolutely I understand it's a legal CYA that said the TRD pro one even has some 1/4 inch pin holes in the bottom of the arm for w̶a̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶s̶u̶c̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ rain drainage.

I got mine for the same reasons as you as well as because I removed all fender liners and my filters were getting NASTY quickly.

I can't remember the last time I needed to change my filter now but I'm a out to do it even though it still looks okay Just because it's oil change time. 10k mile intervals.

But yeah I mean I have a Safari Snorkel and this is there logo.

    Logo_SafariSnorkel.jpg

Looks like water to me!
