Few pics from a recent trip to the Sawtooths. Was a bit smoky, but still loved getting back into ID.

Somehow I missed this; must've been on another trip. Yes. Yes it was. That's what made it interesting, hahahaha!

If anyone sees any decent sliders for sale nearby, please let me know! I wouldn't mind saving a few bucks on used ones instead of buying new. The lift itself and install will probably be a nice bill...

But they're cool looking lol, I'll at least need something to help me get in the truck after the lift, cause short!!

LR won't make it up there in the current condition IMO. Not without some major stacking, or moving of some of those big rocks (which you'd need a pry bar and winch for).

I'd like to try the line from the left next time. Looks OK on the way up, but tricky going down.

    :p :luvya:

Really? Maybe it can then. I always thought they were lower - like 8". Tight turning radius there too, if you take the line I did, but I don't feel like the Taco radius is all that great, so I figured it'd be fine for that. Does it have lockers too?

Regardless, I'd love to see you give it a go ;). Esp. since - as you know - I refrained from running the last quarter mile of trail even though it looked easy and fun - because I wanted you to show me the top.

Oh, I knew the end wasn't all that special from that perspective. I mostly did it just so you could be with me when I got to the top, since I wouldn't have known about the trail otherwise, LOL.

Will be interesting to see that LR. Sounds a lot like my dad's Jeep Grand Cherokee from the suspension perspective.

I agree, unless your planning to run a tree or rock along your rocker panel sliders aren’t needed. Now if you plan on dragging yourself up an over something then yeah but until then they aren’t needed. Now that said I’m getting sliders before I run Boulder again. Cause I’m kinda determined to do that left line.

Don't forget they work as a solid jacking point for a hi lift. Never know when you might need to stuff something under a tire for traction.

I’m planning on both; fingers crossed I use one/both before this truck ends up in my unborn kids hands.

I’ll be ok if I never need the Hi-Lift but for $100 it’s worth throwing in the truck.

I am buying sliders secondhand, to be honest the predator steps I have are nice but I don’t use the steps and the wife doesn’t either (yet) so no harm in ditching them.

I don’t know what y’all are talking about never using a hilift… I use it at least 3 times a year. I also drive into snowdrifts I shouldn’t and sink to the frame but…

Last time I used mine for recovery was in deep snow. This was on a truck without a winch and had to use it as a come along. Mine gets used mostly to level the truck for camping. Such a versatile tool to not have one.

    Well that isn't any fun.

Where’s the sense of adventure. Getting stuck solo is a great amount of fun. Not sure if you’ll get out, wondering who you can call to get tugged out, regretting some previous decisions made by a complete idiot 5 minutes earlier.

Saw a Tundra get bogged down in the muck muck this past weekend at Anderson res. Got too close to the waterline unloading a jet ski... promptly tried to gun it back to shore and just saw it sink...
Rear passenger tire completely covered, driver side bout 50%. No recovery gear in sight.

Looked at me about 100yds down the bank and promply went to a nearby Chevy for help to pull them out.

Said to my wife "See, recovery gear isnt just for the mountains... so how bout those MaxTraxx?"

Still waiting on her to answer me... not sure if she heard me correctly.

I mean, first of all, it smells like shit and my 6yr old daughter gets her shoes stuck in it... that should tell you a little sumpn sumpn.
I was actually wondering if my Taco had enough giddy up and traction to get him out... probably a good idea he didn't walk my way and I made of fool of my powerless truck.

Anybody in Idaho Falls area wanting the KDMAX tune for their 3rd gen? @Idahotaco88 has the latest tune and would travel if more of us are interested.

If nobody wants it, I’ll just end up making the trip to Boise.
