Another one of the driving factors in costs are that Vista Outdoors now operates powder companies Speer, Federal, CCI, Estate, Remington and others and we need to remember that the equipment used to make this ammo is from WW2 era and costs a ton of money to maintain. And then you have hoarders like me and others im sure!

I actually found shotgun shells this weekend that weren't buckshot and yes I bought a box. 357 is still really expensive and i need it to shoot with. Bought some from SG Ammo last week they are already sold out. Glad I ordered them.

My LGS finally had .300blk in stock! $45 for 20 rounds, no thanks lol. 9mm $35 for 50, 40s&w $35 for 50. 5.56 $15 for 20. I’m good I’ll keep shopping online. I like to shop local and support small businesses but not when you’re price gouging.

They did have 30rd pmags for 9.95 so I grabbed a few following @IPNPULZ advice

Also bought an MRO with mount, 2 2-rd Vepr 12 mags, a 45rd AK74 waffle mag, and some stuff to convert the Saiga.

Who would y'all recommend (Texas based) to convert a Saiga IZ114?

Green or red MRO? I've transitioned to all green. Works best for me.

Concern is mags are the next version of shortages/panic buying/etc. Raw product to make them might run into issues with production problems/higher tariffs/stuff like that. Or that’s my understanding, someone feel free to correct me though.

A lot of people misplace their long term plans for gun ownership and mags have gone scarce before for various reasons...yet no one wants to buy more than 2 as spares

They get lost, they break, they wear out etc etc etc

Then when prices jump overnight because materials aren't available or limits have changed or there is a panic...there's inevitably people stuck paying 10x the price
