I have a broken rear spring on my 2014 Taco. 120,000+ miles of dirt roads and carrying about 500 lbs in the bed will do it. Here is what I am after. I want to replace all four shocks and the two rear leaf springs. I occasionally tow a trailer and always have at least 400-600 lbs of gear in the bed (this includes the capper). I don't want to add a lot of lift (2-2.5 inches in the rear is ok). I am trying to make this a simple replacement/upgrade and not a full blown jacked-up deal. I will be doing the work myself. Please help! Thanks

Vehicle Specs: 2014 Tacoma 4 door 5 foot bed with a capper on top, 4WD, 4.0L V6, with factory installed tow package, stock wheels (6 lug) and running Wrangler Duratrac LT265/75R16. Modification 2" add-a-leaf.

Hi, Thanks for your suggestions. This is way over budget and more than I think I need. Although I do a lot of improved dirt road miles I do not do extreme 4x4 off-road. I was hoping to stay around $1000 if that is possible.

I was going to recommend a full leaf pack (dakar, Icon RXT, ect) but your budget is 1K. Definitely look into air bags for the weight. As for lift most people do bilstein 5100s, which is about the next step up from stock.

Search Buy/Sell/Trade…. you can probably find what you need and stay in your budget, but it’ll take some effort and maybe some refurbishment of used parts.

This suspension kit has been used by thousands of members here (myself included).

They arnt race shocks, the leafs squeak (mine dont but... Most do) and many will probably suggest bilstiens and/or something else.

    Your Mileage May Vary

$1k is pretty limited. I really like my 3rd gen suspension with icon progressive aal. I've got 1/4" spacers up front to level things out. The whole truck is about 1.5" taller and I don't have any weird vibrations.

Here is what I'm thinking; The OME Dakar leaf in heavy duty which lifts 2.75" with a constant load of 660 lbs.
