I want to do a 3" lift - after getting a price from Toyota (1500$ 2"front/1" rear- that does not even include labor) there is a sensor, if I go somewhere other then Toyota to do the lift is this "sensor" automatically taken care of as well ???

Not sure about the sensor Michelle, but you could buy the same lift for half the price, by ordering Bilstein 5100's all around, and a 1" block for the rear. That's what the OEM TRD kit consists of, but with a big markup. Only difference is they say Bilstein on the shocks instead of TRD.

It depends on the situation after the lift is done. Some Tacos need a recalibration and others don't. Folks with TechStream can do the calibration (Zero Point Calibration). There are instructions around here somewhere for the older OBD jumper method that kicks off the Zero Point Calibration. That method doesn't work on 2019+ Tacos, but the TechStream method is the same.

You also get a warranty on the parts and install when going with the dealer installed lift.

YMMV but even with my lift and Pro grill, my TSS sensor still works and I didn’t have to do anything with it. My lift is about 2.5” now though. Started at 3” if that helps.

I installed my 3" lift myself and haven't had any TSS issues at all.

3 years max. With Bilstein 5100's, it's much longer.
