Replaced my rusty 2008 Prerunner 16” OEM steel wheels with a set of 2017 Prerunner 16” Aluminum Alloy wheels. Needless to say, the TPMS light on the instrument cluster stays on even after the steel wheel sensor$ were installed. I have taken it to discount tire to have them re-set the sensors, this did not work, even though the sensors checked good. I like the TPMS system, and would like to get it working. I do check my tire pressure occasionally especially when the weather changes. Is there a specific sensor that will work on the 2017 aluminum wheels on 2008 Prerunner?
The spare tire sensor is working and the tire pressure is good. Could the spare tire steel wheel be causing the problem?

    thanks,
    Jetmech1

Everything I've read is 3rd Gen will not convert to 2nd Gen.
