I dropped my pan to adjust pressure and decided to go ahead and pull filter to clean while it was open. Dear god… didn’t expect much considering when I pulled the one on the 98 cruiser I really didn’t get much out of it but this was a different story. Didn’t appear to be much metal but def was waaay worse than I expected. The pan magnets looked typical with a very small amount of metal on them. So I’m not sure if someone had recently cleaned the filter on Cruiser before I purchased it or the taco was just really that bad. Either way I’m glad I pulled it. I typically do a total overhaul anytime I buy a vehicle but the trans filter is one of those things that can slip your mind during a fluid change. Might want to check up on y’all’s the next time you have a day to tinker.

Your posts are all over the place .
Last night , we were looking at your brake booster as a possible cause to the rough running engine .
I see you have the pan off your trans now ?

Yeah like I said yesterday the booster and trans were the two main parts left so hence “all over the place” . I’ve combed through that truck and those were the only ones left on list. The booster was a cakewalk so I had more time to do maintenance so I did. Hope that helps with question

Ive got a 2007 TRD. I changed trans fluid last year on it and cleaned the filter. Got around 147,000 miles on it. I have read a couple of posts lately about adjusting the pressure but I don't really know anything about that. I have a little shudder in my trans I would like to try and adjust out. I haven't seen any pics of what the part looks like to adjust though. Anyone got a pic of that or can explain better?

Try Maxlife ATF or lube guard red bottle additive. Lube guard is supposed to help with shudder.

I wouldn’t bother with adjusting with that low of miles unless it’s been dogged on hard or towed trailers often. The previous owner of my truck was a kid that couldn’t keep up on payments so the parents sold it. Noticed a little slippage so that’s why I’ve been meaning to do it. That being said I’m no mechanic, I just do about all my own maintenance to save some coin. I read on it for a while and figured it would help. It’s done but I haven’t gotten a chance to take it out for a drive yet to see if there’s any noticeable difference.
