Shift module that's attached to the transfer case. What shifts from 2h to 4h to 4l. It's pretty safe there.

Electronic shift actuator. There's one on the front axle for the ADD also.

Its pretty safe there. I hit my transfer skid on one trip and the skid took all the damage.

Thanks! $80 and about 30 minutes at a muffler shop. They'd seen and done tons of them.

You’d have to hit a very strange and specifically shaped rock at a perfect angle to take out that and not just land on the frame rails or have already gotten hung up on the skids.

    Aluminum skid?

I also put a heat shield on my rerouted crossover as well, plus I added some aluminum flashing shielding to the plastic box.

I was not happy when I saw that plastic, electronic box on my T case too OP.
I was like "Goddamn new trucks got delicate electronics everywhere!"
Went out and bought full skids to cover that up

image.jpg Looks dorky, but it’s been on for about two years now with no issues. I used steel zip ties to hold it on. It’s surrounding the back, sides and top, and I left the bottom open to air out any moisture and other crud.

The main heat shield is attached to the exhaust pipe by two bolts with welded on nuts.

Nope, mine are all steel. I also added a heat shield on the reroute. You can see the hose clamps on it.

that is the gadget they use now instead of a manual shift lever for the transfer case.

I really don't get it. I assume it's to idiot proof it after someone sued because they somehow managed to jam it into low range on the highway.

What did you do, go over a rock and then back up over it again?
