loud buzzing from tweeters

Just recently added a sub to my system and I am getting a fairly loud buzzing noise from my tweeters that can only be heard when the music is off or not very loud. Everything sounds great when the volume is turned up. The strange thing is that if I disconnect the subs rca from the amp the sound will go away. Why would the subs rca effect the tweeters ? By the way I am using Schoshe brand rca from walmart. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

what other things have you added to your system? head unit? are your speakers powered from your head unit or another amp?

 

Find a better ground source for your amp if you have one.

#1) Make sure your amp has a nice solid ground, and ...

#2) ..... Is your Amp power cable routed with the RCA? I think the RCA is picking up noise from the amp or another power line. Try re-reouting the RCA differently.

 

I have a pioneer avic 920bt, a rockford 4 channel amp that is powering the front components, and is bridged to power a jl 8w3. All my power runs on the left side of the truck while my rca runs on the right side. I have not had this problem untill the sub was installed. Would my ground become not adequate after the sub was installed? Also can rca pick up interference from other rca or speaker wire? Thanks.

 

Nope, the RCA will not pick up interference from other RCA or speaker wire - there is not enough Amps in speaker wiring to create a significant magnetic field.

Can you take a pic of how your Amp is grounded? That may help us, help you debug your system
