Guessing that you drove between Parkersburg and Wheeling along the river, which takes you through my hometown. Can confirm that there’s nothing between them for the most part, and the summers are very humid here.

The greater Cleveland (Akron/Cuyahoga) area isn’t bad. There are a few nice camping spots within reasonable driving distance (Hocking Hills being the most well known), and Lake Erie.

Ohio is nice. Cost of living is low, people are friendly, good mix of city and rural areas as well as plenty of commerce.

Only real downside is the long winters in the northern half of the state. If you can live with that, it's a good place to be.

I'm actually looking forward to some harsh winters. Where I am in Oregon it's just grey and cold. No rain, no snow, sometimes ice. It's garbage. I'll take snow/ice on the road over boring grey blegh anyday. Lived in Colorado for a few years, snow on the road doesn't bug me. My girlfriend on the other hand....we'll prolly need to get her a Subaru lol

Trust me the single digit temp and stupid wind chill stuff gets pretty old after awhile. It wears me down and by mid Feb i'm more cranky than normal and the false spring stuff can be pretty defeating. I'm not a winter person. If you like hard winters the Dakotas are the place to be. The snow isn't all that much, but the temps suck

See I'm all about it! Give me some icy wind and turn me loose! It's way more appealing than smokey blazing hot summers! The cold is so much easier to defeat than that haha

Right? It's kinda cool there. Not a huge fan of the politics (not to get political) but the state was beautiful. Plus bourbon is always a bonus!

Bourbon is infinitely easier to get in Ohio than Kentucky. OHLQ controls allocations and prices state wide, which I think is great considering I can’t find stuff in WV as easily. Harder to get stuff is done via state lottery on their website (OHLQ.com).

I'm in Maine and they will pat dirt on my face here. No matter where you go house sticker shock will follow you. My land, 80 acres has ridiculous prices right now but it's dollar for dollar where ever you go.

California: I grew up there and it was awesome. Its beautiful, a lot of good off roading but crap laws, and expensive

Alabama: low cost of living. I didn’t like down south, man it was humid. No mountains. I did like it better up by Huntsville.

Georgia: low cost of living. Also North was nicer than where I lived down south. I liked it up by Helen.

Colorado: Though it is expensive I would move back there in a heart beat. I absolutely love the Rockies. I wouldn’t live east of the Rockies out in the flats though.

Arizona: I haven’t lived there full time but I spent a lot of time in Lake Havasu City AZ. My parents moved there years ago. It’s always a good time and I enjoy the desert. I may move there after I retire (or Colorado haven’t decided.).
