I have no clue what older tacoma are like with this 2020 being my first. I inquired about the latest tsb after seeing t posted on tw. The dealer said it had already been done where i bought the truck. At any rate its awesome, no tranny gripes whatsoever.

:pccoffee: A little update, if anyone cares...

So, I've complained about crappy mileage and driveability (sluggish). Well, after the Tune, I stopped using the ECT button because well, it's annoying. And to be honest the truck drove MUCH better. The guy who did the tune for me said, the improvement in driveability from using ECT is relative. Meaning, while ECT was better before the tune, it will still be better with the tune. But, I didn't want to. Why? Because I knew I would like it too much and would then have to go back to using ECT everyday like I did before. So, I didn't. Until yesterday.

Well, he was right. :smack:The ECT made the same relative improvement in driveability with the tune as it did without. It's just clearly better. Why am I telling you this? MILEAGE!

Unless there's some other "mode" to gauge fuel economy for an overall average, the displayed average mpg is "for that tank" and not overall. The 14.9mpg I posted a pic of was on just under 3/4 full. I've driven yesterday and today using ECT on a full tank. Now, with the gauge in about the same position (3/4 full) my mileage is 17.0 already!:goingcrazy: I'm going to run out the whole tank full and see where my average ends up. But it would appear that mileage improves with ECT over the default mode.

Maybe someone has already done this test? Have some input? Same or different experience?

2020 SR5 Access cab, stock truck, just hit 13,000 miles on the odometer.

87 octane at BJs for the most part. Average mpg for truck so far is 22.8 mpg. Typically will get about 24 to 26 mpg on long highway trips (>100 miles) during the summer months - best was 26.4 mpg on a 1/2 tank refill. On short trips around town, I typically get around 19 to 22 mpg (summer and winter). I usually refill the tank between 1/4 and 1/2 level.

I can drive 50-65 mph all day on the secondary highways and roads here on E10 87, and still get over 22 mpg.
