Dealer chipped front suspension coil

I feel like this is sloppy work and will promote rust...should I be concerned or at least ask for a replacement coil?

To be clear, this happened during the install of a Westcott Designs TRD Pro lift kit.

There's no such thing as a replacement coil. They only come in whole assemblies.

Yes, I'd request the dealer remedies the issue. At the very least, paint the area to prevent corrosion.

Definitely tell them about it and make them paint it or replace it

If they were installing said coil overs for you, then the fault falls squarely on you.

I feel like this option is best. Chip the loose off and get some duplicolor red or something. It's not like it's going to hurt the function of the spring any.
Some situations as these aren't worth the time and effort. Yeah sure stinks of poor craftsmanship. If the installer is close by you could stop and inquire and let them know.

I've emailed pictures to the dealership. Waiting to see what sort of resolution they suggest.

 

If it was me, they damaged it- they replace it.

To many people get away with so much shit nowadays because we let them. It is commonplace now to settle for mediocrity. It’s like we accept it because it’s the best we are going to get. I worked with tons of people that should have been fired, but they were just making it (breathing)

Given a little more thought, shipping these days sometimes is a gamble. Dealer might have received them in that condition too.

So they came in damaged. They parts guy and tech don’t have a brain to say “hey, these are damaged” before putting them on? WTF? You pay for a coil special ordered with a gouge? F no!

Take it back and ask them to replace the damaged coil or entire assembly. It wasn't like that when you took it in.

 

I think it's time for blue collar workers and people in food service/retail to just take a thee weeks off for a general strike. Just close it all down and let Karen and Kevin microwave hot pockets and fix their own shit.
