    People replace their OEM lights with shitty Chinese ones and all kinds of weird stuff happens. Makes total sense to me that this situation would as well, even if I can't figure out why.

    Imo, it's a threshold deal. Like when the engine randomly dies, the key is still on and the hot trans oil from the converter is just chillin on the sensor, of course, this is total speculation. I have no idea what I'm talking about lol

    Even trucks that had CPS failures showed high trans temps so it seems like any misfire due to fuel or spark could spit up all sorts of possible errors.
