    Hello,

I'm looking for some info for the Broken Bow area. My wife and I are heading up there in mid-August.

I've been trying to find a source for a good trail map.

Are the trails in Ouchita well-marked for use? I'm very much a stay-the-trail, go slow and enjoy type of guy, so I want to make sure I'm following the rules.

If it matters, we're just bringing a 2-seater Kubota.

    Any advice is appreciated!

    Thanks!

How was the trip? I’m taking my family there in late August, was the Bee Creek and Dyer trail pretty fun?

How were the trails? And was there anything else of interest you’d recommend?

We had a pretty good time. Bee creek/Dyer mountain has a lot of mud holes, but they aren’t deep and aren’t a problem. It’s overall pretty easy. The first area right at the beginning of the trail is about as hard as it gets.

Trails on the west side of the highway were pretty fun. We were in an ATV for those, some places off of the main gravel road would pinstripe a taco pretty good.

The Friends trail loop in the state park was fun to hike. Takes you by the river for quite a ways.

We rented kayaks on the river just below the lake. A couple little chutes and a little waterfall, but nothing hard. I think that took about 3hours.

We just did the trail from 259 to the water fall, pretty fun. I threw it in 4lo in a couple spots, just to soak up the bumps. You totally called it on the very beginning being nearly the most difficult.
The trail was perfect for taking my wife and toddler daughter, neither of whom have an appetite for anything too hairy.
We let the kids skinny dip in the pool below the waterfall, then saw a water moccasin as we walked back to the truck, so pretty thrilling.
I loved that we got to wheel for an hour or so, then exited to paved road after the waterfall. If we get a chance we can jump right back on the trail where we left off. Perfect for a chill roading trip.
