Hello, I want to turn on the setting-the-alarm beep, if the is no background noise I can hear the locks enable. The ambers will blink but sometimes they are hard to see, so a nice crisp beep to confirm arming the alarm would be preferable.

I tried the procedure in this video, which is for either enabling or disabling the beep. Unfortunately, it does no work for my 2019 Tacoma.

I gather that many people want to dis-able the beep, but I would appreciate any help for enabling the beep.

Does your Tacoma even have the buzzer? (behind the Driver's side Headlamp assembly)

That is a setting in the head unit. It should be on by default.

Is your Taco used and do you have any other beeps? If not, the previous owner might have cut out the speaker?

I don't know what to tell you other than it was on of my first changes that I did. For me, I hate beeps when locking the doors.

My Tacoma was brand new, bought from the dealership. There are no other beeps that I have run across.

That's weird. These things beep at just about anything in the default state.

Coming back to 4wheeled vehicles after over a decade on motorcycles, the noises and distractions were exorcised on mine. :D

Yes, that's the buzzer connector. You could place an LED in the pins and press the remote lock, it should illuminate. Yellow is (+)

Usually If a Toyota isn’t beeping when you go to lock the doors it’s not seeing all the door pins or hood pin. Check that those are all working

edit: just seen you’re not able to relocate the buzzer

OP, were you able to test the output on the connector?

I did not, but I'm glad you mentioned it, as I should verify that connector's function. I don't have an LED handy, maybe I can use my Greenlee meter to read it. I'll go see...

EDIT: Meter's leads are too big...

DO you have alligator clips for the probes tips? You could pinch a paper click to them, then touch the connector leads.

Good idea, I'll see if a small paperclip will fit in the connector; I can hold the leads on them and have my wife activate the remote.

They should be male tips inside the connector. Careful not to bend them.
