    Hi all,

Still rolling with my 2007 Tacoma. I have an older (now) Pioneer head unit (P4100DVD). When it was installed the installer put in a parking brake bypass switch and also tied it into the steering wheel controls. I am wondering now if I get a newer unit like the DMH-W4660NEX would I have to get a new steering wheel control module etc or should it be possible to swap out just the head unit and make everything work.

    Cheers,
    Kyle

The steering wheel control module may be transferable but may need to be reconfigured. But that may also depend on the module (Axxess, Maestro, etc)

I found parking park bypasses to be more transferable between models of the same brand. But usually not transferable if switching brands.

Since youre going from Pioneer to Pioneer, it might be fine. Search for brake bypass modules for each headunit and see if it cross-references with each other.
