    $5k build

    - 2009 Tacoma Off Road, original owner, blue, matching leer cap, 88K

    • type of use: mostly in and around town and some hwy driving; some beach/sand driving; tow a car and trailer occasionally
    • current mods: basically none; bone stock drivetrain; stock suspension; BFG 265/75/16

Considering most mods will be aesthetic - I am looking for a truck that a minimum achieves the following:

    • 2-3” lift max, I want reliability, and comfort, with the ability to tow a trailer once in awhile. I want to do it right the first time. We tend to keep cars forever, considering this, - if I were to decide to go off road at some point - what lift gives me best quality parts w/o ride quality suffering and within budget
    • I am keeping stock rims and the current tires for now and likely keeping the same size going forward.
    • Front bumper with winch capability. I know…will I need it? Probably no, but somebody else might, and keeping with the theme of “for looks” - l am just looking for recommendations
    • Big piece of this to consider is cost, while this truck is not my daily, and I could do most, if not all - i do not feel like doing at this stage in my life. I assume this will be a big cost factor.., but labor should be factored into a $5k budget

I hope I put all pertinent information required to get decent recommendations.

For the record - I have read all the great threads on here of awesome builds. There are a bunch of directions to go… this thread will either confuse me more or I will see a trend in the recommendations and go with it.

    Thank you in advance!!

I think he was suggesting save up another $1K (total $6k) for S/C

    S/C wasn’t on my radar, I’ll take a look - thanks
