I know a few people that can't retire, the one guy's wife has too many expensive medical problems. Despite having a good nest egg of seven figures, a paid off house etc he says he just can't. He's afraid by the time she could take medicaid in a few years he'd be broke. I guess broke is subjective.

This type of situation would suck but that's understandable.
The people that get me are the ones in a better condition to retire but say they don't know what else they would doo_Oo_Oo_O

A different kind of random, just things I've learned.

From what I've seen in medicine, it's about having a purpose. Typically these folks don't have hobbies and their whole life has revolved around work. Once someone has lost their purpose, they end up losing their will. :(

I spoke with a surgeon a few years back. He told me that for his profession after retirement, there is an expected life span of 4 years. o_O

One of my dad's friends is 82 and can't retire. Not because his wife is sick but because his wife can't stop spending money. It's been like that their whole marriage. 50 years or better.

You gotta have interests or hobbies separate from work.

And...thank goodness Mrs Gritto is a cheapskate.

We got a decent rain this AM, I didn't see in the forecast. Believe I'll go get another bag of grass fertilizer that was 1/2 price and get that put on. I know we're getting to cooler temp time of the year and maybe with a little fertilizer I can get back to mowing 2x a week

Cool and crisp are definitely words I'd use to describe it. We may have slept with our windows all open last night but the stars were absolutely incredible. Walking up to 33 out was sorta kinda worth it but fuuuccckkk it's cold.

Im game with that as long as I got a good sleeping bag! And a coffee n Jameson mix in the morning with a fire is a beautiful way to start the morning!

Been thinking about it a lot lately! SC heat/humidity actually fucking sucks! Find ourselves staying inside and home in the summer more often than not cause it’s fucking stupid outside! I kinda want to move back to Michigan, but not Metro Detroit!
