RSI Smart Cap

I was stack some stainless fender washers and use longer bolts where the rack mounts to the feet. I would not put washers under the feet to the cap.

 

Decided on an RSI SmartCap Evo Sport found a place in San Diego that had them in stock and at a good price. I called them at 11am on Wednesday and by 2:30 PM it was installed on my truck.
Love it so far.

 

That’s badass. I’m shocked they had anything in stock…How much did that cost you? I was literally just watching a YouTuber who said around $3,700 but he was in Canada.

 

$3650ish before tax. Here’s a link to their website, I wasn’t really planning on pulling the trigger on one right away but they were local and I didn’t have to deal with shipping or a wait time so, I did it.

Yeah I totally get that, I would’ve done the same thing. Appreciate the info!! Seems like about the same as a color matched ARE topper would be with all the options I want

 

Wow!, I don't think anyone mentioned that RSI and Prinsu racks don't clear enough. Does anyone know if other manufacturers racks clear the cap doors?

 

Nah...ARE and the other fiberglass caps are not in the same league as metal ones. No offense but unless you were to compare RSI to and RLD or Alucab...these three are so far the only ones that have the durability and purpose designed .

 

I agree! I meant that the price he said is about the same price I have been quoted for an ARE cap with the options I want.

Viair 400p in the RSI storage bin and hardwired it to the truck. Now I can air up without having to haul out the compressor and crack the hood to hook it up.

 

This is amazing. If you get a chance I’d be psyched to see how you did it
