I have used the outlet on occasion but now I'm finally trying to put it to good use - and it doesn't seem to work correctly.

I bought an Iceco cooler. It's listed as 55w.

When I'm driving and push the AC button on the dash the light comes on for a few seconds and then goes out. Sometimes it will stay on for longer - but it always goes out. And comes back on when I push the button again.

It seems to stay on longer if I'm parked and therefore running at 400w vs 100. But it still goes out.

I reread the manual and don't think I missed anything. Thoughts?

It should stay on at 100w while driving, but the compressor in the fridge attempting to turn on is probably causing some type of protection fault in the inverter. Note that it is 100w at battery voltage (13.3v), so about 0.833A at 120v. At the full 400w, it is only 3.33A which is about half of what is need for most non-resistive appliances.

You'll have to see how your fridge runs on the full 400w and determine if it is better to do the 400w anytime mod, get a larger inverter and associated wiring, install appropriate DC wiring if your fridge has a DC option, or get a house battery setup with solar or switched charging.

I have a couple box fans in my bed for the dogs when it’s hot. They even seem to run slow.

I tried a corded impact on the lugs. It almost cracked them.

I was afraid that this might be the case. I have a small AGM house battery in the bed for accessories (I have a GFC). Instead of setting up a battery to battery (I have all the stuff I just haven't run the damn wires) - I installed an AC charger that I plug into the outlet and use to keep the battery topped off.

For a quick solution - I'll just plug the Iceco into the 12v battery and make sure I keep it topped up with the charger. As little as I'll use the cooler I think this will suffice for now.

Running wires causes all kinds of procrastination. I have been doing the same as I'd like to maybe do power for a rear winch plate and the tailgate lock.
