Just for fun I watch my Toyota dealers on line ad.
I thought there was a shortage of Tacomas.

How many of the new ones are really on the lot vs. in transit or production?

 

Around here they list them as (Natl) if they are in transit.

 

Only 2 of the new Tacomas have Stock #s - seems that the rest are all allocations somewhere in the pipeline and, perhaps, not yet produced.

 

Good question. They use to put an icon below them that said "in transit". Just curious, I clicked on the "details" button at the below, left of a particular model and it brought up a screen with details of that truck. Look at the low, right of that screen it says that there are "Only 6 TRD Off-Road models left in stock". They may be using a little creative writing there. I will add this, I was in there dealership on Saturday getting service and did see a row of new Tacomas as I drove in. I didn't look over in the used lot.

If anyone is interested, PM me & I'll give you the name of a salesman to talk to and my name to drop. He and I have a "no bullshit" relationship.

I notice that on all of those they list. Could be that the line of them I saw were all presold and all of those listed are in transit.

 

Yeah, you're right. I had not noticed that.
Thinking about it, I bet that line of tacomas were mostly the used models.

Here at Marietta Toyota (suburb of Atlanta, GA) they had 5 cars total on the lot yesterday- no Tacomas. They now have 7- two Tacomas... I physically looked and they were used 2017 and 2019. The new car lot is across the street from the used and they parked these in view of the road where they normally park the new Tacomas. (Backed in, of course I imagine so it's harder to tell what year it is).
