I’m installing this and need to know the fuse size l will need. The system comes with a fuse but I have decided to go the add-a-fuse route to avoid a T-tap.

What size is the fuse that comes with the outlet?

    It’s a 1.3A on 12v draw so I’d start with a 2A fuse

    2A should be adequate.
(It says on the side that it draws 1.3A @ 12V, so 2 should be fine).

Y'all missed 5v/2.4a, It's Quickcharge so it can put out any of the listed ratings. Either a 3amp or 5amp fuse will be good.

It’s currently being shipped so maybe it’s labeled on the fuse. Also trying to find a good candidate for the add-a-fuse. There’s already a tap in the wiper fuse.

    15W Max output.
    5V * 2.4A = 12W
    9V * 1.67A = 15W
    12V * 1.3A = 15W

    2, 3, 5 are probably all fine.

Had to look that one up. In that case, if second the 5a fuse.

Will this work in accessory mode or when the vehicle is on?

Supplying 5v 2.4A will not draw 2.4A on the 12 volt side.

2 A will be fine taking into account some efficiency loss. Maximum power out is about 16 watts on the 12v rail. (12x1.3=15.6) P=IxE
Therefore input current at truck battery will be less than 2 amps (12x2=24 watts).

I do not see where the unit is rated at 36 watts in post 8 chart, unless it is very inefficient.
The chart in post 8 does not match the picture of the unit.

Since I have an SR5, I have a few empty spaces in my dash where the switches are for some of the TRD OR/Pro options.

Does anyone know if installing this in one of those spots would be feasible? Would I just blow a fuse every time I tried to use it if I was already using all the other charging ports in the truck?

My wife works from the passenger seat on long trips so the extra USB ports would be a game changer.

I’m just assuming you replaced the stock single USB charging port with this one…I apologize in advance if I’m asking a stupid question.
