I’ve only ever had Bakflip bed covers and I’ve never had that problem. 9 years on my truck if you count the one I had on my Ram before my Tacoma.

I lost count of all the little mods I have done to my truck. But the one mod that I think is a must have, is to get your truck tuned. If it wasn't for OVTune 1.05, I would have sold my truck. Now I run KDMax 6.0, and driving is such a joy. I do feel bad for passengers though, since the crazy throttle setting can cause some serious whiplash...

jesus, I live in the desert and have not had anything like that happen.

Maybe a material defect with the plastic?

OEM Bed Extension, Bed Mat, Lomax Bed Cover, Auto lock tailgate (OEM)
    1) OEM tailgate auto lock ($148)
    2) Lomax trifold bed cover (this combined with the above auto lock makes the bed very secure for storage) ($680)
    3) OEM bed mat ($110)
    4) OEM bed extender ($270)
    5) TRD Pro skid plate (hated how the sheet metal plates rusted on my old Sport. I like these are aluminum) ($460)

That’s almost $1,700 worth of accessories added to a brand new truck, but it is pretty much done now. After owning a 2010 Tacoma since new, I know what I need.

If it's their hard fold version it says the material is "thick PC polymers" with an aluminum frame. I can see the attraction, it's less than half the price of a BakFlip MX4, but I'd send it back where it came from.

They gave me $100., back. But I wish I had a roll up aluminum top now, or something comparable. I got what I paid for unfortunately.

Check out BakFlip. My G2 is great and you can have access to the entire bed easily when you need it without removing the cover. The only difference between the G2 and MX4 is the finish. BakFlip also makes a roll up version but it's more $$.

I agree. It’s very expensive but absolutely worth the money.

"T-SB-0092-20 is definitely the best improvement to be made on a 3rd gen V6AT. Just had it done on monday, the difference isn't as mind blowing as some make it sound or as a tune might be, but it is definitely much better between 0-30MPH. the best way I can describe it is a compromise between the stock ECM programming and ECT mode. So far I haven't found myself reaching for the ECT button at all."

Hi All. This post noted above sums it up perfectly from my perspective. I've got a bit over 26,000 miles on my 2019 TRD Pro, 99.9% of which was driven with the ECT button on because (well, if you're reading this, you know why). Anyway, I had the T-SB-0092-20 done on my truck this morning at Toyota of Nashua and have driven it 60 miles since then. VERY noticeable improvement in overall drivability, and no urge to hit the ECT button. Yeeah! So if you have a 2019 or 2020 and haven't had this done yet - GO FOR IT.

Also a quick thank you to everyone on this forum. I only recently found my way to this site, and it was via reading through various threads speaking to 3rd Gen AT drivability issues that I first learned about this TSB.

Oh, and on a side note - I also discovered the "Gasshole" through this forum, too. Ordered one and installed it on my truck last week. $20 well spent.

    Welcome to Tacoma World!

I’m glad T-SB-0092-20 did the trick for you. My 2020 is eligible for that TSB as well. Maybe I’m lucky or drive like a hyper-miling grandpa but my auto transmission has been fine I think.
